Where does Becker Big Lake Youth Hockey play?
We play the majority of our practices at Princeton Ice Arena located at 511 Ice Arena Drive in Princeton.
When is the official hockey season?
The District 10 hockey season runs from mid-September to mid-February for Squirts through Bantam levels. Mite A, B, C levels run from mid-September through mid-March. Mite D level season runs from December through mid-March.
When is registration for the season?
Registration for the upcoming hockey season is typically in late-August/early-September. Be sure to sign up for the email list on the home page for the latest updates. There are options for registration after the official registration is complete. Contact the Registrar if interested and the official registration has passed.
What Skating Skill Level Does my child have to be to Play for BBLYHA?
No specific skill level is required for any level of play. New skaters are always welcome to join at any age at any level. Players are highly encouraged to use the Try Hockey for Free and Learn to Skate as a brief introduction.
When and how often do MITES and TERMITES play and practice?
Mite A, B, C (8&Under) & Mite D (6&Under) covers the 8U age group. Currently, most practices and games fall on Saturdays and Sundays at various times. Occasional weekday practices are held, however these are kept at a minimum . Most teams will have a practice/ game 2x a week during the season.
Mite A, B, C season runs late-September through March. Evaluations are usually held in October.
Mite D season runs December through March.
Is there equipment available for Rent?
Yes! BBLYHA has a number of sets of gear particularly for the Mite A, B, C, D level age group available for use during the hockey season. Contact any board member if interested in borrowing gear for the season.
Does my child have to participate in Try-Outs & Evaluations?
Try-outs and Evaluations are always an optional process typically held in September to assist in grouping children in teams of similar skill level. Any child will be placed on the lowest level team of their age bracket if they choose not be part of the evaluations.
